F***ed Up Ask for Fans’ Love Letters for New Competition

Tuesday, 14 June 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Canadian hardcore punkers Fucked Up have launched a new love-themed competition to celebrate the release of their new album ‘David Comes to Life’. To enter the competition, fans must pick up a postcard from one of the independent record shops listed below, write or draw something on it that is inspired by love (e.g. a poem, story or illustration etc) and send it to the band’s label Matador Records at the following address:

Fucked Up released their third album ‘David Comes to Life’ earlier this month. The album is a punk rock opera of sorts, which follows the story of protagonist David and his love for Veronica. The new competition has been launched in conjunction with some of the UK’s best independent record shops, who will be stocking the postcards, which each feature a design of one of the five main characters from the album’s narrative – see photo.

Fans wishing to enter the competition will also need to include their email address and the name of the shop where they found the postcard. Entries will be judged by Fucked Up and the winner will receive a signed, framed posted from the band and a goody bag.
