Pulp have confirmed that they will be making the second ‘surprise guest’ performance of this year’s Glastonbury festival. The ‘Common People’ rockers are set to grace the Park Stage this evening, following on from a warm-up show in London yesterday (June 24th).
Pulp played a small show at St. Martin’s College in London yesterday, the college which singer Jarvis Cocker once attended, leading him to mention the institution in Pulp’s memorable hit ‘Common People’.
The band are set to follow on from Radiohead, who played a well-received slot on the Park Stage last night, tearing their way through a rain-beaten performance centred around recent LP ‘The King Of Limbs’. Pulp are scheduled to perform tonight at 7:45pm at the Worthy Farm festival.
According to NME, Britpop icons Pulp played a short set at St. Martin’s yesterday, bringing out hits including ‘Bar Italia’, ‘Disco 2000’ and ’Common People’. The gig was the band’s first ‘regular’ show since 2004, following on from their comeback at the Isle of Wight festival earlier this month.
