Hopes of a Rolling Stones anniversary show have been dashed as frontman Mick Jagger admitted he may plan shows with his new endeavour Super Heavy.
Stones fans had been hoping that rumours of a performance to mark 50 years since the band’s first show together were true, but with Jagger’s new supergroup looking to make a name for themselves the proposed free concert looks very much in doubt.
“We haven't planned to do a tour but if people really like it maybe we will” Jagger revealed.
“We’d love to get out and play some of it live. As soon as we started playing together in the studio it gelled, and all these different styles didn’t seem to be a problem to make them fit together... I hope people will like it.”
Super Heavy was spawned by Jagger earlier this summer, and the Stones singer has combined musical talents from different spectrums of the industry in an effort to create a perfected sound – on board the Super Heavy boat is Jagger, singer Joss Stone, Bob Marley’s son Damian, the Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart and award winning Slumdog Millionaire composer AR Rahman.
Fans can expect an album from this all-star team in September later this year, but according to Gibson.com a taster from this album will be released this week.
