Mastodon Reveal 'The Hunter' Artwork

Sludge metal band Mastodon have revealed the artwork to their highly-anticipated fifth studio album ‘The Hunter’.

Image‘The Hunter’ is due for a release around October time, but until then the four-piece metal heroes have released the haunting artwork for the LP to keep their fans pleased. And, like all Mastodon album covers, the picture is arresting, creepy and psychedelic all at the same time - American folk artist AJ Fosik takes the credit for this one, replacing the usual artist Paul Romano who designed all previous sleeves.

The band have been working on the album since January earlier this year, and have revealed eight of the tracks from the album which you can read below. It is unknown whether any more songs will be added to ‘Hunter’, but the band have recently released a bonus track from their previous effort ‘Crack the Skye’. You can listen to ‘Deathbound’ on the Adult Swim website, or watch the hilarious and eye-opening video embedded below.

More Mastodon news will be on the way soon, regarding album and single releases, and the possibility of a tour to coincide with the album’s release. The confirmed track-listing so far for ‘The Hunter’ is below.

Mastodon will feature at Sonisphere this weekend.

"Blasteroids"
"The Octopus Has No Friends"
"Stargasm"
"Curl of the Burl"
"All the Heavy Lifting"
"The Sparrow"
"The Ruiner"
"Dry Bone Valley"
