28-year old American rapper Lil Wayne has announced that he is finally finished his album ‘Tha Carter IV’ after three years of work and a postponed release date.
With Wayne originally starting to write for the album in 2008, fans had hoped the album would come out in May earlier this year, but the ‘Drop the World’ singer was forced to push the date back to August 29th as he needed more time to finish writing his lyrics. But with no more interruptions looking likely, the hip-hop artist told MTV news that the album would definitely see release this summer.
“The album is done and it'll be out August 29,” said the Southern rapper. “It's totally done.”
‘Tha Carter IV’ is set to be Lil Wayne’s first album release since his release from prison following his arrest due to gun crimes last year, and Wayne claims to have drawn inspiration from another jailbird rapper – Tupac Shakur.
“It was like Tupac had 'Keep Ya Head Up' and it was a message to women and little girls across the world just to keep your head up even though things are hard. That's what my song was.”
On the album will be three already released singles ‘6 foot 7 foot’, ‘John’ and ‘How to Love’, as well as track ‘Nightmare of the Bottom.
