Zooey Deschanel Denies Being A “Snobby Cow”

Wednesday, 13 July 2011 Written by James Conlon

Zooey Deschanel, lead singer of LA duo She And Him has hit back at a reporter who alleged that she made negative comments about the downtown area of Los Angeles. Patt Morrison, a reporter for the LA Times also went on to brand Deschanel a “snobby cow”.

The argument between the two began during the recent tour of newlyweds Prince William and Princess Catherine, who visited the American city earlier this month. Part of Morrison’s column quoted the singer and ‘(500) Days Of Summer’ actress as saying: "I just don't want them (the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) to see the worst of LA”.

Writing on her shared blog site hellogiggles, Deschanel responded to the reporter, claiming that Morrison wasn’t even present at the event where the alleged comments were said to be made.

She went on to criticise the fact-checking abilities of the journalist, who wrote in her column: “you don’t have any homeless people there near your Westside home?”

The singer replied, saying: “you state, 'go back to your house on the Westside.' Well, I can’t do that because I do not live on the Westside” before she concluded, “I do hope that in the future when writing about something, especially a human being, you will consider both the facts and context before publishing your opinion.”
