Trivium to Tour UK in December

Metalcore heavyweights Trivium will be going on tour to the UK this December, after the release of their fifth studio album ‘In Waves’.

‘In Waves’ is set for an August 9th release, and will be their first effort without long-time drummer Travis Smith, who has since been replaced by Nick Augusto. Fans will be eager to check out how the band is sounding without the tattooed beast behind the drum kit, and whether the newbie Nick will live up to expectations.

The band have spoken about Smith’s departure, revealing that if he had stayed, Trivium would be no more. “I’m not pointing any fingers,” said frontman Matt Heafy. “But if the old line-up had continued the band wouldn't be around anymore. The chemistry wasn't there.”

Lead guitarist Corey Beaulieu also spoke of the incident, saying: “If we'd gone in to start working on this record, either absolutely nothing would have happened or it would have been a yelling, screaming match with fights. There would have been a lot of walking on eggshells then something would have happened.

“Every time he [Augusto] played a song the drums would be totally different because he tries every single beat over every riff, to see what worked and what didn't. He can play all sorts of crazy shit.”

As with most album releases nowadays, a UK tour will follow the release and will see Trivium play seven dates, with shows in London, Southampton, and Glasgow. Tickets and details are below.
