AC/DC Bon Scott Movie In The Making

Those about to rock will be delighted to hear that a film about AC/DC legend Bon Scott has been given the go-ahead.

Currently untitled and in its early stages, the biopic is being put together by film-maker Eddie Martin. Revealing the progress so far, Eddie had this to say. “We’ve been working heavily on it for a couple of months. It’s early days. We are in the writing process. We’ve been meeting with Gaby, Mary, Irene and The Valentines crew, people like Vince Lovegrove, Bon’s early friends”. (Irene was Bon’s former wife).

Still looking for friends and people who knew Bon, Eddie explains that the film is still “at research stage.” Casting has been considered with a chap called Tom Budge favourite to play the role of guitarist Angus Young. An actor to play Bon Scott is yet to be found although the singer's son, Ben, has put forward that he would like to be considered.

Having scanned through a massive amount of research, one of the things that has surfaced is that despite numerous books being written about the iconic rock band, nobody has actually unfolded the real AC/DC story. “Obviously we have gone through most of them, but talking to Bon’s friends they aren’t happy with the books and feel they have been misrepresented. We want to go much deeper with the movie,” Eddie says.

Desperate to find key people from Bon's life, Eddie is trying to seek out a woman who went by the nickname of Silver. “She is definitely the one person we want to find,” he says. “She was an Adelaide girl who lived with him in London after he broke up with Irene”.

As mentioned earlier, the film is still in its very early stages and it will be a number of years before we get to see the finished piece. “We’d love to be shooting in 12-18 months,” Eddie says.

Bon Scott, born Ronald Belford Scott, was born on July 9th and passed away on February 19th 1980 at the age of 33. He died following a night of heavy drinking in a car in South London.
