US magazine Billboard has revealed who tops the highest grossing tour list earlier this year.
Top of the charts were Irish rockers U2, who managed to sell-out 23 stadiums during their massive 360° tour, which saw them rake in over £107million. They were followed by Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters, who managed to sell-out an incredible 69 shows, earning him £70million and second spot on the highest grossing list. Taking bronze is American rock outfit Bon Jovi, who took £66million home.
Taking fourth and fifth were superstars Lady Gaga and Usher, who made £44million and £43million respectively.
Metal gods Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica all managed to get on to the list, with Maiden in 10th place with £14million, and Metallica and Ozzy in 24th and 25th respectively.
The list is based on how much the artist or band grosses from November 1st 2010, straight up until May 31st earlier this year – just in case some of you were wondering how the hell Take That weren’t in the list, with their tour apparently breaking spending records. Barlow, Williams and the boys earnt a staggering £38million for just eight shows in Wembley, which would have catapulted them straight into sixth spot for just over a week’s work. I’d Take That.
