Tinie Tempah, Justin Bieber, Lily Allen, Jessie J React To London Riots On Twitter

Jessie J, Justin Bieber, Lily Allen, Tinie Tempah and a host of other musicians have taken to Twitter to express their anger and opinions following on from the London riots last night (August 8th).

Tinie Tempah reacted to the events, which occurred in various points across London last night including Croydon, Ealing, Hackney and Camden, by writing on his Twitter account: "‘The more riots the more repressive action will take place & the more we face the danger of a right-wing & eventually a fascist society' MLK".

Well known for her presence on the social networking site, Lily Allen also wrote: "people aren't born evil. Yes, these kids might be past the pointof help, but we need to take responsibility for future generations"

Essex-born Jessie J also gave an extended statement about the events, which began with sporadic violence in Tottenham on Saturday evening. The ‘Price Tag’ singer said: "These riots are not cool. Frustrates me that I cant do anything, no one can. Anger being taken out on innocent people and innocent communities is not fair.Watching the news. I really dont understand... I dont get it??!!! Why destoy your own community? Why hurt innocent people. This is NOT how to gain respect. This is NOT how to get justice. This is NOT how to gain peace."

Support also came from across the Atlantic, as teen singer Justin Bieber wrote: “WHOAH...been out of the loop all day. to all the people of the UK I hope you are ok. my prayers go out to you and the amazing people there. #prayforlondon”

As previously reported by Stereoboard, an Enfield warehouse fire is believed to have damaged a large amount of stock from British independent labels including XL Recordings, Sunday Best and Wall of Sound.
