Internet sensation Rebecca Black is still reaping the benefits of her (terrible) track ‘Friday’... as she joined superstar Katy Perry on stage to perform the song.
The ‘Californian Girls’ singer was performing in Los Angeles when she told the crowd to quiet down, before Black slowly walked on stage. She sat next to Perry, who told the crowd “Give it up for Rebecca Black!”, before the pair broke into the infamous ‘Friday’.
Accompanied by an acoustic band, they played through the song to the screams of the fans (it’s unknown whether the screams were of appreciation or horror). ‘Friday’ is used by Perry at every gig on her tour, but it’s the first time the star has invited Black to duet the track with her.
After they finished, Perry paid tribute to Black, saying “Thank you so much Rebecca. That was our moment. We love you Rebecca, give it up.”
Although the internet star has been branded ‘the worst singer in the world’ (amongst other things), Rebecca also picked up an award at the Teen Choice Awards – who named her the ‘Choice Web Star’.
