LA punk rock trio Margate are to release their new album ‘Rock N Roll Reserve’ on 12th September. It is produced by former Death By Stereo bassist Paul Miner, who has previously worked with New Found Glory, Thrice and Atreyu. ‘Rock N Roll Reserve’ is Margate’s third album following 2006’s ‘Songs in the Key of Awesome’ and 2009’s ‘On the Other Side’. Listen to new album track ‘Control’ below.
Margate are made up of lead vocalist and drummer Alex Helbig, bassist Steve Weil and guitarist Doug Mitchell. The band originally formed in Los Angeles in 2003, but didn’t settle on their current line-up until 2006. Speaking about their formation, Weil said: “We auditioned half the drummers in LA to try and get Alex out front, but nobody could play the tunes exactly the right way and Alex was killing it doing both, so we just kept it that way.”
Going on to talk about their music, guitarist Doug Mitchell said: “All we ever wanted was to get our music out there, to let other people hear what we created. We’re happier than ever making music together and we’ll continue to do so until someone physically stops us from rocking.”
