She may have five Grammys, hold two Guinness World Records, and have been crowned 2010’s Artist of the Year by Billboard, but Lady Gaga has now earned an achievement which really showcases her stardom – as she bagged an appearance in the world’s favourite cartoon series The Simpsons.
Gaga will appear in the episode ‘Lisa Goes Gaga’, which will see the eccentric star travel to Springfield after she finds out that the town is notorious for its people having low esteem. She sets out on a quest to help those who lacking in self-respect, and finds a disheartened Lisa Simpson, and makes it her mission to help her.
But it wasn’t an easy task for the ‘Telephone’ singer.
“I make music, but I don’t do voice-overs every day of the week,” she admitted. “The characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humour.
“That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much. Really I tried to just be as sincere as I could with the lines. I would say this is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done, my dad’s probably going to do 80 back-flips when the episode comes out!”
The singer also talked about a KISS she shares with blue-haired Marge Simpson, describing herself as a “bit of a slut.” The episode will air on September 25th in America – it’s unknown when it will make it on to British screens.
