New Order Announce European Shows & Tickets

New Order have revealed they are to play two shows in Europe next month, confirming a show in Brussels and Paris.

The newly-announced shows will be the first from New Order since November 2006 and the line-up will also feature the returning Gillian Gilbert, who first performed with New Order in 1980 when the band entertained crowds at Manchester's The Squat venue.

For the new shows New Order will line-up with Stephen Morris on drums, Bernard Sumner on vocals and guitar, Gillian Gilbert on keyboard and guitar, Phil Cunningham on guitar and keyboard and Tom Chapman on bass. You'll notice that there is no sign of Peter Hook here following his bitter split from the band back in 2007.

The two new shows will be benefit shows in aid of artist and film producer Michael Shamberg. who produced several of New Order's music videos, and has been struggling with a debilitating illness since 2005. The shows will take place at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on the 17th of October and at La Bataclanon in Paris on the 18th of October.

Speaking about the reason for the shows, Bernard Sumner explained. "Michael has been with us from the very start. Initially he was in charge of Factory New York, then became creative producer for all our early videos.

He brought our attention to the early works of Directors such as Kathryn Bigelow, Gina Birch, Robert Breer, Peter Care and Phillipe Decouffle. Michael is very ill and needs constant medical attention. We want to help him, and these shows will contribute financial support towards his ongoing care."

New Order European Live Dates are as follows:

October 2011

Oct 17th - Ancienne Belgique in Brussels
Oct 18th - La Bataclanon in Paris
