American blues-rock duo The Black Keys have unveiled dates for UK live shows in February 2012.
Forming in 2001 The Black Keys, Dan Auerback and Patrick Carney, started out on the underground scene in Akron, Ohio. They released their debut album ‘The Big Come Up’ to huge success for a new independent rock band.
Since the early days the duo have earned praise from acts such a The White Stripes, Radiohead and Beck and their sound has a universal appeal which you may have spotted on TV advertisements and TV shows. Following-up their 2008 album ‘Attack and Release’, the recent release of their 6th studio album ‘Brothers’ has seen The Black Keys break into the mainstream with chart success from hits such as 'Tighten Up' and 'Howlin' For You'.
The Black Keys are currently working on their 7th upcoming studio album, which is reportedly being recorded in Dan's new studio in Nashville, Tennessee. During an interview with Spin Magazine in July, the duo revealed they had finished work on their as-yet untitled seventh studio album, comparing the sound to influences such as the Clash and the Cramps. The names of two songs on the album were also revealed: 'Lonely Boy' and 'Little Black Submarine'. The album is due to be released towards the end of this year.
Kicking-off the mini-tour in Nottingham, the duo will play at venues in Edinburgh, Manchester and London. More dates could be announced soon.
