The Rolling Stones To Announce 50th Anniversary World Tour Dates Today?

The Rolling Stones have hinted that they could be about to announce their 50th anniversary tour.

Despite being inactive for nearly five years, rumours of a 50th anniversary world tour by the legendary rockers have been rumbling around for a while. The band have always stated that a reformation was unlikely, however, after Mick, Kieth, Ronnie and Charlie recently met-up in London, rumours have again gone into overdrive, despite nothing being officially announced.

That could all change though! The official Rolling Stones Facebook Page has today revealed that fans should “Stand By For Big News at 5pm GMT”, which has left fans eagerly awaiting what could be the announcement of those anticipated 50th Anniversary world tour dates.

Mick Jagger is currently working hard with SuperHeavy, a super-group he has formed with Dave Steward, Damian Marley, AR Rahman and Joss Stone amongst others. Speaking about the project, he told Spinner what he thought of the sharing of vocal duties.

"Well, it's a lot easier for me, to be honest. That's one of the things Dave (Stewart) sold me on in the beginning. 'You know, it won't be so hard for you, because you won't have to do everything all the time', and I said, 'Yeah, right'. But of course, you're present the whole time. When I wasn't singing I was playing the guitar, and when I wasn't playing the guitar, I was playing harmonica, and when I wasn't doing any of that, I was producing, and when wasn't doing that, I was making the tea."
