Evanescence On Course To Top UK Charts

Evanescence are on course to reaching the Number One spot in the UK albums chart this weekend. The band, who have recently returned with their first LP in 6 years, are set to knock James Morrison’s ‘The Awakening’ from the top spot with their new self-titled effort, if midweek charts are to be believed.

The ‘Bring Me To Life’ rockers are holding off unlikely competition from Steps, who are currently in the Number Two position with their compilation release ‘The Ultimate Collection’ (leading us to wonder just what event caused half of the UK to have their eardrums damaged without it being reported on the news).

Also set to enter the top 10 this weekend are new entries from ‘Heartbreaker’ songsmith Ryan Adams, Opera stunner Katherine Jenkins, Jason Derulo (known to his friends as jassoooooon deruuuuloooo) and Cliff Richard.

In terms of singles, it looks as if this Sunday’s chart (October 16th) will once again be headed by Rihanna, who currently sits in the Number One spot with ‘We Found Love’, the first release from her upcoming LP ‘Talk Talk Talk’.

Also looking likely to land in the top ten this week are new entries from Matt Cardle with ‘Run For Your Life’ and Gym Class Heroes with ‘Stereo Hearts’, which you can listen to below.
