Superstar singer Adele has hit back at rumours that she was forced to cancel so many live shows as she is suffering from throat cancer.
Adele has had a torrid time these past couple of months, after cancelling her entire US tour, as well as a handful of UK dates, after she suffered a haemorrhage in her vocal chords, meaning she couldn’t physically sing. While she has let fans know of her condition on her blog, some people have been spreading the news that the ‘Someone Like You’ singer was actually suffering from potentially lethal throat cancer.
A spokesperson for the singer cast away the speculation though, saying “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal cord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.”
The damaged vocal chords mean that Adele won’t be making any live or promotional appearances this year, after being told to rest by doctors.
