Eccentric pop superstar Lady Gaga has opened up about how the new video for her single ‘Marry the Night’ was inspired by the depression she was left in after she was dropped by her first label Def Jam in 2006.
The 25 year-old is currently promoting her third studio album as well as the new single, which comes out on November 21st, and will be appearing on Alan Carr: Chatty Man this Sunday night at 10pm. Following her announcement that the new video will be her longest yet, Gaga told Alan Carr about her dark time after she was dropped by Def Jam after just three months.
Since she was dropped, Gaga signed for Interscope Records, where she found her feet and began her road to success, releasing her first album ‘The Fame’ in 2008. Since then she’s gone on to release two more albums; ‘The Fame Monster’ and her latest LP ‘Born This Way’, which has sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
Gaga announced through her Twitter account yesterday that she’ll be streaming a preview of the video tomorrow night – straight after her performance at Manchester’s Children in Need concert. She wrote: “The 17th, after my UK performance on Children In Need, I'll tweet the opening of my new video. ‘MARRY THE NIGHT: THE PRELUDE PATHÉTIQUE’.”
Lady Gaga also revealed to Alan Carr that she is working on a duet with Elton John, and the stage for her new Born This Way Ball tour is designed by her collective team The Haus of Gaga.
