Kanye West Dominates 2012 Grammy Award Nominations List

LL Cool J hosted the nomination ceremony for the 54th Grammys at Los Angeles’ Staple centre last night.

There was no surprise to see Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Rhianna and Adele fight it out for the Album of the Year Award, while Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ is due to go head-to-head with Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep,’ for Record of the Year.

Perry and Adele went on to get a host of other nominations, whilst Kanye West (pictured) picked up the most with seven, although surprisingly, not nominated for best album despite the praise he has received for ‘My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy.’

David Guetta reaffirmed his recent label as the World’s Number One DJ by being nominated for a host of electronic awards, although he will go toe for toe against Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia for some, and quite randomly, Skrillex!

Coldplay, Radiohead, The Foo Fighters and Mumford and Sons fight amongst a number of rock nominations, whilst Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne will compete for the rap honours.

The award ceremony will take place on February 12th 2012.
