X Factor's Janet Devlin Related To Kurt Cobain, According To Courtney Love

X-Factor finalist Janet Devlin may have punktastic roots, it has been revealed, after Courtney Love claimed that the singer was one of her ex-Husband Kurt Cobain’s cousins.
The ginger-haired singer, who was booted from the show on November 27th in fifth place, was contacted by the NME after Courtney Love, who’d been searching through family trees and old archives, claimed that Devlin was Cobain’s cousin.
“In all this money shit, I've had to discover exactly who the Cobains are. She (Janet) is a cousin of Kurt's ancestors from County Tyrone, so in effect she's Kurt and Frances' cousin.”
After NME contacted Devlin, the young singer admitted that she was ‘completely unaware’ and has no idea if the claims are true, saying: “I'm not aware of any family connection but it’s pretty cool if that is the case.”
Apparently, Love made the claims after she got in touch with Simon Cowell to allow him to let X-Factor stars to cover Nirvana songs. Though, Little Mix won’t be covering Nirvana songs this Christmas – they’ll be battling with a Nirvana song for Christmas #1, as ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ is getting the Facebook page treatment from the same people behind 2009’s Rage Against the Machine campaign.
