Simone Felice has announced details of his debut solo album, set for release on April 2nd 2012 .
As the former drummer, writer and vocalist of The Felice Brothers, and creator of folk outfit The Duke & The King, Simone Felice has been involved with many group projects but this record sees him establishing himself as a lone artist.
To celebrate this announcement, Simone has made one of his brand new album tracks 'New York Times' available for free download.
The forthcoming album was self-produced with help from Ben Lovett (of Mumford & Sons) and was recorded in locations chosen specifically to match the ghostly, gospel-like feel that runs throughout the record. Members of Mumford & Sons guest on the lead single 'You & I Belong', whilst The Felice Brothers and a girls’ choir from Simone’s hometown in the Catskill Mountains (in New York State) contribute to the album opener 'Hey Bobby Ray'.
'Simone Felice' track-listing is as follows:
1. Hey Bobby Ray
2. You & I Belong
3. New York Times
4. Courtney Love
5. Stormy-Eyed Sarah
6. Charade
7. Dawn Brady’s Song
8. Gimme All You Got
9. Sharon Tate
10. Splendor in the Grass
The album can be pre-ordered now from the Reveal Records website HERE.
Following the release of his self-titled debut, Simone will play London's Bush Hall on April 27th.
