Jon Bon Jovi NOT Dead Despite Internet Rumour

American rock vocalist Jon Bon Jovi posted a time-stamped picture to the band’s Facebook page last night – as he tried to disprove rumours that he had died, which circulated the net like wildfire yesterday.

The rumours were started in a ridiculously effortless fashion, with a random WordPress site with no previous posts copying a 2009 LA Times article about Michael Jackson’s death in its entirety – replacing just MJ’s name with Bon Jovi’s. But, the not-so-convincing attempts to spark the rumour worked, and soon, thousands upon thousands of fans believed that the ‘It’s My Life’ singer had died.

So, in retort to the dark rumours, Bon Jovi posted a picture of himself holding a sheet of paper that read ‘Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey’, with the time and date on. It came with the caption “Rest assured that Jon is alive and well! This photo was just taken.”

The rumours came just days after North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-il died of a heart attack. We can imagine he would probably be pretty unhappy that JBJ managed to steal some of his thunder.
