Austrian Doctors Optimistic About Michael Recovery

George Michael’s Austrian doctor has confirmed that the star is making a good recovery from his bout of pneumonia, saying he’s ‘generally optimistic’ about him – but has refused to comment on whether he’ll be making it home in time for Christmas.

Earlier this week, Michael’s partner Fadi Fawaz told press that Michael would be home by Christmas, and that there was nothing to worry about, but doctors today lessened hopes of the singer making it back to Britain in time by choosing not to comment.

“We know that he is doing well and we are generally optimistic,” Michael’s physician Christoph Zielinski told local media. “But [It's] something that we are not in the position to decide. That is something that must be decided in consultation with the patient.”

The illness has forced Michael to cancel all of his remaining 2011 tour dates, including shows in Cardiff and London. The dates are set to be re-scheduled, but nothing has been set in place as of yet. Stay with Stereoboard to find out the rearranged dates first.
