London-based electronic music duo Paper Crows have announced the release of their own version of The Smashing Pumpkins track ‘Disarm’, which is available to download via the group’s SoundCloud page. The song, which is one of band member Duncan McDougall’s favourite tracks, was originally included on the Pumpkins’ 1993 album ‘Siamese Dream’. Listen to the Paper Crows version below.

Paper Crows, comprising McDougall and frontwoman Emma Panas, have also recorded a cover of Kate Bush’s 1985 single ‘Cloudbusting’, which is also available to listen to below. The duo’s recent single ‘When Friends Survive’ was the first release on Pete Tong’s resurrected FFRR Records, which previously helped to launch the careers of artists such as Jay-Z, Shakespeare’s Sister and Goldie. ‘When Friends Survive’ follows Paper Crows previous singles ‘Stand Alight’ and ‘Fingertips’.

Announcing their cover of ‘Disarm’ on the official Paper Crows website, the group said: “As a thank you for helping us get to 2,000 fans on Facebook this weekend, we’ve done a cover of ‘Disarm’ by Smashing Pumpkins for you. Finished it just in time! Hope you like it.”
