Israeli Duo Rendezvous Announce New Album ‘Another Round Please’

Saturday, 21 January 2012 Written by Rob Sleigh

Israeli electronic duo Rendezvous have announced the release of their new album ‘Another Round Please’, which is due out on 24th February through Rough Trade. The album was mixed by Dave Bascombe, who has previously worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Depeche Mode and Tears For Fears.

The accompanying music video to the duo’s recent single ‘The Murf’ is available to watch below and has already been viewed over 150,000 times since its release last year. The single previously entered the Top 10 of the UK club charts. DJs Carl Cox and John Digweed have both contributed remixes of Rendezvous’s music.

Many of the tracks on ‘Another Round Please’ were recorded in somewhat tumultuous circumstances during the Second Lebanon War of 2006. As Rendezvous were recording, neighbouring Israeli towns were being fired upon by Hezbollah missiles, while only a few miles away, Israeli planes were dropping bombs on Lebanon. This led to surreal and occasionally dangerous recording sessions for the duo.

Rendezvous’s music has been described as a cross between electronica and prog-rock, leading the duo to draw comparisons to the likes of Kraftwerk, Air and even Pink Floyd.
