Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor has revealed more about the new track he recorded earlier this month alongside Foo Fighters legend Dave Grohl and world-famous musician/producer Butch Vig.
Both Taylor and Grohl are in the midst of writing new material at the moment – Taylor on a new Stone Sour record and Grohl on both a Foo Fighter’s album and material for his new project TBA – but have decided to work with Butch Vig for a new track for a new documentary which ex-Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age star Grohl is filming.
Taylor spilt the beans to Artisan News Service, saying: “Dave is doing a documentary about the legendary board from Sound City that everybody and their mom recorded on and he's slowly but surely gotten all these people together to make music on that board again. He called me. He was like, 'Would you like to do a tune?' I was like, 'Are you serious? I'm on a plane right now.'”
He continued: “And it's really cool, because it's me, Dave and Rick Nielsen [Cheap Trick] on one tune. And I'm like, 'Ahh…. Excuse me?!' It's just a huge check mark on my bucket list, let's put it that way. And I'm really ecstatic. It's a really good tune.”
