'I'd Rather Still Be In Oasis Than With Beady Eye', Says Liam Gallagher

Mancunian indie rocker Liam Gallagher has made a claim which will probably bring a smile to his brother Noel’s face – and a shade of jealousy to his new bandmates – after he told Live Magazine that he’d rather be in Oasis than Beady Eye right now.

Since Noel split from Oasis, causing the group to fall apart, Liam has spent his time working with his new project Beady Eye, which features a number of ex-Oasis musicians. But, after seeing Noel’s own new project The High Flying Birds earn much more success than himself, he’s confessed that he’d rather be back in Oasis than penning new material with Beady Eye.

“If people think I'm going to be happy about the Oasis split, then they’re wrong,” he told Live Magazine. “Even though I love Beady Eye, I’d prefer to still be in Oasis, because that was my thing. Oasis was my life.”

He went on to say that although he misses his time with Oasis – he doesn’t miss the massive gigs they put on. “It’s been great doing all these little shows, going back to square one. It's good to see the crowd and hear them. Long may that continue. Big gigs are soulless masses of people – I'm glad I've done them, but I don’t miss them. I’ve got nothing to prove anyway.”

He concluded the interview with another one of his famous rants – this time aimed at the new ‘disease of indie student music’. “"Look at these grungers – they just walk around filthy with matted hair and smelly T-shirts, looking like tramps – where's the park bench and the Special Brew? And I despise this new disease of indie student music – Bloc Party and all that nonsense.”
