The Vaccines Pick Up Xfm New Music Award

English indie-rockers The Vaccines have managed to beat off competition from Noel Gallagher and Ed Sheeran to pick up this year’s Xfm New Music Award.

The band managed to win the gong following the success of their debut album ‘What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?’, and picked up the award at a ceremony in Manchester’s HMV Ritz last night.

They were chosen as winners by an expert panellist team, which included stars like Muse drummer Dominic Howard, Editors vocalist and guitarist Tom Smith, ex-New Order bassist Peter Hook and Noah and The Whale singer Charlie Fink (the panel sounds like the ingredients to a new supergroup, don’t ya think?!)

The band are currently putting the finishing touches on the writing stage of their new album, and will be ready to record their new material in March – with frontman Justin Young reassuring fans that the new record will ‘definitely be out this year.’

The Vaccines have a number of live dates lined-up for later this year, and they’ll most likely be performing some brand new tracks at the gigs. If you’re a fan, check the dates and details below and grab yourself a pair of the cheapest Vaccines tickets.
