'I'm Bored Of Trying To Be Sexy', Says Nicki Minaj

Hip-hop and pop star Nicki Minaj has claimed that she has given up trying to look sexy and put on a sexual image – as she finds it too ‘boring’.

Minaj’s new album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ drops later in the year on April 3rd, just her second full studio album after 2010’s ‘Pink Friday’. Despite bursting into the scene quite prominently, Minaj has confessed that she felt under pressure to make herself look as glamorous and sexy as possible – but now lets her personality define her appearance.

“When I started getting serious about rap,” Minaj told the Daily Telegraph, “the people closest to me were like, 'You should dress this way, you should speak that way, you should rap this way. I just started feeling super caged in. I thought you had to do that [be sexy].

“But it's boring, the typical sexy. I mean, girls wanna be sexy but I also think you have other sides of yourself. Right before my album came out I felt like I had been hiding my personality – my comedic side. I had to ask myself, 'Why am I only showing one facet of who I am?”

The news comes after Minaj's video 'Stupid Hoe' was banned for apparently being overly sexual.
