Alabama Shakes Announce May Headline UK Tour

Following on from their NME Awards Tour appearances, US rock outfit Alabama Shakes have announced plans for a headline UK tour in May.
Consisting of lead-singer Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, bassist Zac Cockrell, and drummer Steve Johnson on drums, Alabama Shakes released the four-song EP 'Alabama Shakes' in September last year, which gained widespread media attention. The band are expected to release their debut album, titled 'Boys & Girls', in April.
The release of 'Boys & Girls' will mark the arrival of Alabama Shakes. To the members themselves, though, what's been most exciting has been the reaction they have felt on stage, whether tiny local dates or under the glare of the media.
"It seems like everyone can tell how into it we are," says Cockrell. "Every show, people say they can feel how much we love what we're doing."
Alabama Shakes visit the UK and Ireland this May for a six-date tour. They will stop at venues in London, Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Brighton.
Alabama Shakes 2012 UK Tour Dates are as follows:
May 3rd – London Electric Brixton
May 5th – Dublin Academy 2
May 9th – Glasgow King Tuts
May 10th – Manchester Deaf Institute
May 11th – Birmingham HMV Institute
May 12th – Brighton Komedia
