Coldplay BRIT Award Win Leaked By Wikipedia?

Coldplay BRIT Award Win Leaked By Wikipedia?

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has told Radio 2 that he thinks his band won’t be picking up any awards at next week’s BRIT Award ceremony – but, with the band up for two separate awards, Wikipedia seems to think otherwise...

Coldplay had yet another great year in 2011, releasing their fifth studio album ‘Mylo Xyloto’, which went straight to #1 in the UK, the US and a whole range of other countries. But, while they’re up for ‘Best British Band’ (which they’ve already won twice before) and ‘Mastercard British Album of The Year’, they think they won’t be picking up any awards – and that Adele is a dead cert for the album of the year.

But, it seems as though someone in Wikipedia has some inside knowledge of the event, and has written that Coldplay have actually won both of the awards – even though the award ceremony doesn’t take place until February 21st.

“Unless Adele somehow deletes her albums, I think we can come to the conclusion that [we won't win anything],” Martin told Jo Whiley. “I'm pretty sure of it. We haven't done a red carpet for a long time. We love these things (award shows) but red carpets are more for nice ladies. We look like the cleaners coming in to vacuum up!”

He continued on to talk about his appreciation of receiving award nominations, saying: “You can be one of those artists that don't really care about them or you can, like us, love it, and we're always so grateful to be included. It's a kind of Olympics for a band; it's nice to win a medal.”

We’ll find out soon enough whether Wikipedia’s little Wikileak was in fact true – and if it is, we want to know who spilled the beans!
