RIP Chris Brown Trending On Twitter

American rapper Chris Brown has become one of a number of celebrities ‘killed’ by Twitter – after RIP Chris Brown began trending on Twitter this afternoon, fooling a number of people into believing that the star had died.

Somehow, Twitter users have managed to turn ‘RIP Chris Brown’ into a global trend, with people all over the world either fooled into thinking he’s died, laughing at the people who’ve been fooled – or disgusted at the poor taste of hoaxing a star’s death. And, in the wake of fresh controversy surrounding him and the assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, some users have even gone as far as to say that he had ‘beat himself to death’.

One user wrote: “Trending things like 'RIP Chris Brown' is not even funny. There are people dying every day for real and your making jokes about it,” while another tweeted: “RIP Chris Brown is trending...did Rihanna finally get her revenge?!! #gogirl #girlpower”

Interestingly, Brown has been writing messages to the media after he was caught up in more controversy after he beat Rihanna back in 2009, with some criticising his appearance at Sunday’s ceremony, and others berating the number of girls who tweeted messages like ‘Chris Brown could beat me any day of the week’.

Brown tweeted “DEAR MEDIA.. Ur plan is not working.. I’m not going anywhere so get used to me.’ Well according to Twitter, he has gone somwhere.
