American geek-rockers Wheatus have announced a UK tour for May.
Catapulted into the international spotlight by their 2000 hit single 'Teenage Dirtbag', Wheatus will kick off their new UK tour on 22nd May at The Other Room in Birmingham. The ten-date jaunt will roll through the UK cities, including a show at London's Garage on 24thMay.
Wheatus’ first and largest hit was 'Teenage Dirtbag'. Featured in the American teen movie ‘Loser’, the hit became an instant success amongst the teenyboppers and charted at number two in the UK. The band’s second single 'A Little Respect' was a cover version of Erasure’s 80’s hit, which also scored big success for Wheatus, reaching another high chart position.
Wheatus are expected to release a new album sometime later this year.
