The Answer Talk About Their Second UK 'Revival' Tour As Well As What's Next For The Band (Interview)

Having just wrapped-up yet another lengthy nationwide headline tour, this time with fellow rockers The Union in tow, The Answer's guitarist Paul Mahon took a little time out to chat to us about the success of their latest Top 40 album 'Revival', life on the road, and what's next for the rock n roll revivalists.

ImageThanks for taking the time to chat with us. Your latest album 'Revival' was released in October last year. How have you found the response to it?

Generally the response has been very positive across the board which is great because we're proud of this album. Our fanbase seem to love it and we've had some great reviews.

You're currently on the road with fellow rockers The Union and play Bristol tonight before concluding in Brighton tomorrow. How has the 2012 tour gone?

This particular tour has been one of the best yet. The venues have been full every night and the shows have been amazing. Its been alot of fun touring with the Union who are a great band. Rock n roll is alive and well in the UK make no mistake about it!!

You seem to be constantly on the road at the moment. I caught you guys supporting ACDC a while back and have seen you play in Bristol twice within six months. Now you've been on the road a bit, what do you find to be the best and worst parts of being able to tour?

The best part is being able to rock out with our fans almost every night. The worst part is the lack of showering facilities when we're living on the tour bus. But generally I love the way of life and wouldn't change a thing.

You guys appear to be in your element on stage. Totally enjoying what you're doing. What first made you kick-off a rock'n'roll band and do you ever look back at the journey you've taken?

I've been in bands since I was fifteen so its always been the dream to make a living playing rock music. but it wasn't until I met the guys and formed The Answer that I really believed I had a shot at making the dream a reality. I do occasionally ponder the twists and turns this journey has taken but most of time is spent looking forward to the next challenge and planing for the future of the band.

Being on the road with AC/DC must've been pretty special. What would you say are your personal favourite moments or greatest achievements to date?

Playing Madison Square gardens twice and the David letterman show in the same week is a personal higlight of mine closely followed by the Wembly Stadium gig.

Is there anything in particular left you'd like to achieve through music?

So much more you wouldn't believe!!!

Latest track 'Nowhere Freeway', features stunning vocals from Saint Jude's Lynne Jackaman, can you see The Answer collaborating with other artists in future? Who else would you like to work with?

Never say never. I don't have anyone in mind right now but I did enjoy this particular duet and could easily do it again in the future.

The reception of 'Revival' and live DVD '412 Days of Rock N Roll' has been pretty awesome. Fans as well as fellow musicians have been raving about the band. Overall, how would you say 2011 stood for you?

Its the year we made our best album yet so all in all its been a good year with some good festival appearances a few great tours as well. 2012 has been pretty great so far as well.

What do you have planned for 2012 that fans should watch out for?

Some more festivals, a bit more touring and maybe even a fourth album.

Anything else you'd like to add?

Thanks for your support. Keep believin' in rock n roll!!!
