Pop-punk five-piece You Me at Six have confessed that they’re appearance at Download Festival is going to be a surreal, as they’ve never headlined a festival stage and played after dark before.
Speaking from their current UK and Ireland tour, the band have told NME that being given the chance to close the Saturday night on the Zippo Encore stage is ‘absolutely amazing’ – though they added that it would also be surreal.
Drummer Dan Flint told the site: “It'll be the first time we've ever played after dark at a festival. That'll be a different kind of experience. To be one of the headliners playing Download is going to be surreal. It's one of those things. We don't want to get too excited about it, as we don't want it to be not as good as we expect it to be. But I think on the day, it's going be absolutely amazing.”
