Pop and soul singer-songwriter Paloma Faith has hit out at her own collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan star Ghostface Killah, with Faith claiming she was forced to work with the rapper on the 2010 remix of ‘New York’.
‘New York’ originally came out in 2009 but was re-released in 2010 with Ghostface Killah featuring as a guest-rapper – something critics didn’t see as an improvement. Faith was equally unhappy with the track – and admitted that having Killah on the track had nothing to do with her, with the star adding that the rapper ‘didn’t understand’ the song.
“That thing with Ghostface Killah was really weird because I didn't approve it,” Faith told Digital Spy. “I didn't particularly think it was necessary to have a rapper featuring on anything and I've also never met him. I don't think he knew what that song was about. From what he said on it you can tell he didn't really listen to what I was trying to say!”
She went on to say that there wouldn’t be any collaborations on her new record ‘Fall to Grace’ – because she had her own way this time round!
“I'm not doing any collaborations on this one because I've got my own way! In the future I'd like them to be with people I really want to work with.”
‘Fall to Grace’ is set to hit shelves on May 28th.
