Download Festival Renames Main Stage & Adds More Bands To 2012 Line-Up

With only eight weeks to go until Download Festival 2012 opens its gates, organisers have confirmed a further 19 acts for the line-up. In addition, Download chief Andy Copping has just confirmed that the festival's Main Stage is to be renamed 'The Jim Marshall Stage' in honour of ‘the Father of Loud’ and the man responsible for ‘the Sound of Rock’.

Leading the pack of new bands are acclaimed Swedish heavy metallers Ghost, blues rockers Saint Jude (who count Ronnie Wood and Jimmy Page as fans), American metallers Shadows Fall and Brits My Passion.

Also added to the bill today are Feed The Rhino, La Dispute, Lawnmother Deth, Six Hour Sundown, Silent Descent, With One Last Breath, The Union, No Americana, Royal Cartel, Tyla, The Dirty Youth, Yashin, Voodoo Johnson and Sanguine.

Organisers are also pleased to confirm the return of the JägerRock Truck as The Jägermeister Acoustic Stage. After a successful 2010, the truck is back by popular demand hosting exclusive acoustic sets from famous live rock bands across the weekend.
