One Direction State They Will Not Change Their Name Despite Lawsuit

X-Factor boyband One Direction have stated that they will not be changing their name, despite a lawsuit from a US rock band of the same name demanding that they change their name and pay them compensation.
The two groups have clashed over the name, with the American band claiming to have used the name since 2009 – a year before 1D made it to the final of X-Factor. But, with the UK version suddenly taking the US (and apparently the rest of the world) by storm since the start of 2012, their American counterparts have been extremely unhappy – and have attempted to take the five lads and their hugely-powerful boss Simon Cowell to court.
But, speaking to The Sun, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik revealed that they'd be keeping their name no matter what. Asked whether they'd be changing their name, the pair firmly replied 'No', before adding: “We don't know [what will happen] but we're not changing our name.”
The affair has since become quite heated and has lead to the Californian rockers receiving many-a death threat from extremely fanatical One Direction lovers, with their frontman Sean O'Leary telling the tabloid paper: “There has been so much hate mail, like people threatening to cut our balls off. The one that stands out for me is a girl saying she wanted to kill my father.”
Whether the two groups resolve their problem, and regardless of whatever name they may or may not be using, the UK's One Direction will be touring the country in 2013.
