Superstar singer Madonna has confessed that she would have loved to have had Adele perform alongside her at the Superbowl half-time show earlier this year but the star's vocal cord issues meant it couldn't go ahead.
Madge revealed to ITV1's Daybreak show that Adele, who has become one of the world's biggest stars of the moment following the release of her second album '21', was her first choice sidekick when she was on the hunt for acts to perform with her as she entertained the huge crowd at half-time of Superbowl XLVI. She eventually enlisted the help of LMFAO, Cee Lo Green, and her two 'Give Me All Your Luvin' collaborators Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
Asked by Daybreak whether she'd like to work with Adele, Madonna replied: Yes, I would love to. I would love to meet her, I think she's brilliant, I love her. I wanted her to be in the Super Bowl with me, but I think she was having her throat problem or throat operation or something.
Madonna went on to embarrass X-Factor boyband One Direction by admitting that she didn't really know who they were. She told the show: That's a pop group, right? Sorry. I haven't seen them yet, no, sorry. Slap my hand.
The comments come in an interview which you'll be able to watch tomorrow Daybreak starts at 6am and finishes at 9:30.
