'Tupac Hologram Was Strictly For Coachella Festival', Says Dr Dre

Hip-hop superstar Dr Dre has told press that the hologram technology which brought Tupac Shakur back to life was designed 'strictly for Coachella Festival', but hasn't quashed rumours of a tour yet - and added that 'we'll see' whether Pac makes his way around the world or not.

Dre performed with Snoop Dogg alongside the hologram Tupac at the festival on Sunday night for the second time, and has attracted the attention of people from across the world, who are all interested in either taking it Tupac on tour or resurrecting their own favourite, deceased musician using the technique – with Michael Jackson being a firm favourite amongst hopefuls.

But, speaking to the crowd at Coachella Festival on Sunday night, Dre said: “As you know, a hologram of Tupac was part of our show…It was strictly for Coachella – get it right. I wanna get rid of all the rumours out there. This was not done for a tour. If a tour happens, we'll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012, baby. Just for you.”

The comments contrast with Dre's previous comments where he told of his pride at bringing Tupac back – and hoped that Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix could be brought back too.

What do you think of the hologram and the idea of taking it on tour, or the idea of bringing back other deceased stars? Let us know in the comments section below.
