BIGkids Announce Release Of New Single 'Superhero' & Debut Headline Show

After a string of low-key London shows and the release of their widely acclaimed debut single 'Drum in Your Chest', the buzz around DIY Camden duo BIGkids continues on a fast upward trajectory. Today they announce their brand new single 'Superhero' - released on June 17th. They also announce their first ever headline show - at The Ballyhoo (formerly The Bowery on New Oxford St) in London on May 24th.

Driven by floor pounding drums, off-kilter lo-fi guitar samples and a rib-cage shaking bass riff, 'Superhero' oozes youthful determination and uplifting exuberance. Combining Rosie and Ben’s impassioned vocal delivery with their no-holds barred mashup of a plethora of different musical styles and textures, the song exudes the feeling of long-awaited summer euphoria and looks set to be a sure-fire festival hit.

The headline show at The Ballyhoo will follow confirmed performances at this year’s Camden Crawl on May 5th and 6th and The Great Escape Festival in Brighton on May 12th, before BIGkids hit the festival season in full with slots lined up at Secret Garden Party, Lee Festival, Standon Calling, Bestival, Nass Festival, and Y-Not.

Last month saw Stella McCartney pick BIGkids’ track 'Drum in Your Chest' to promote her exclusive Olympics Collection which was revealed at the Tower of London on 22nd March.

Since posting their DIY video for 'Drum In Your Chest' online), BIGkids have garnered a barrage of attention across music sites and tastemaker blogs alike with the likes of Dazed Digital, i-D, Nylon and NME all showing their support. Having also been tipped by the likes of the Guardian, Independent, Evening Standard, and Artrocker, the excitement is infectious and BIGkids are heading towards the festival season as one of the must see new bands of the summer!
