Akon: 'I Would Love To Do A Reggae Album'

Hip-hop and R&B star Akon has apparently got his mind set on making a reggae album, after spending time with Bob Marley's sons Damien and Julian.

The 'I Wanna Love You' singer really enjoyed working with the Marleys and has been so inspired by the pair and their father that he's allegedly planning to start a new reggae project – which may even feature both Damien and Julian.

Speaking to Billboard, Akon said: “It was such an honour to be in that environment and be inspired by it. They had me writing three to four songs a day because I was so amped! I always said to myself, 'When I get to that position when I can do an all-reggae album, I would love to do it,' and those guys are the best to do it with.”

There should be some kind of reggae inspired tracks on Akon's latest album 'Stadium', which is set to hit shelves in September. Stay with Stereoboard to find out more about Akon's new material!
