X Factor's Bradley Johnson Announces Release Of Debut Single 'Boomerang'

On June 24th, X Factor 2011 contestant and former Nu Vibe member Bradley Johnson releases his debut single, ‘Boomerang.’

With its addictive chorus and sing-along verses, ‘Boomerang’ will lodge itself firmly inside your head this summer, as Bradley launches his bid for solo success, hoping to follow the paths of previous X Factor stars like Olly Murs, Cher Lloyd, JLS and One Direction.

“I’m overwhelmed by everything that’s happening right now,” says 17-year old Bradley. “My heart’s always been as a solo singer. I love the Nu Vibe boys to bits, but now I want to put everything into making it on my own, and Boomerang is the perfect start.”

This Liverpool ‘bad boy’ turned good, gave one of last year’s most memorable X Factor auditions, with his version of Ed Sheeran’s ‘A Team.’ It received a standing ovation and helped him sail through to the next round, even getting him a personal call from Ed Sheeran himself, praising him for his rendition. “It was quite surreal,” remembers Bradley. “But he said my audition was wicked. Which was unbelievable. I’m a massive fan.”

During the Boot Camp stage of the competition, the judges decided to put together some of the soloists into groups, with Bradley becoming part of Nu Vibe. They went onto make it through the Judge’s Houses and into the Live Finals performing ‘Grenade,’ ‘With or Without You’ & ‘Beautiful People’ before they where evicted in the second week.

Since then Bradley has managed to secure over 2 Million YouTube Views and over 37,000 followers on Twitter. He starred in the Mark’s & Spencer Christmas advert with other X Factor Contestants and secured a Number 1 hit with ‘Wishing On A Star’ alongside the other X Factor Contestants, JLS and One Direction. Looking back, would Bradley change anything about his time on X Factor?

“Not at all. It was a great experience, and I’m so thankful for everything I learnt. I probably wasn’t really ready for it as it’s such a rollercoaster and you live in this massive bubble. But I’m glad I did it and it’s got me to where I am today, releasing my own single. It’s crazy.”
