Disco Legend Donna Summer Dies Following Cancer Battle

Queen of Disco Donna Summer has died following a battle with cancer. The singer was 63.

Reports are emerging online that the singer, who shot to stardom in the 1970s with hits 'Last Dance' 'I Feel Love' and 'Hot Stuff', was in Florida at the time of her death earlier this morning. Early reports suggest that Summer had been trying to keep the severity of her illness under wraps, with hopes to complete a new studio album.

American entertainment website TMZ.com claims a source close to Summer revealed, "We spoke to someone who was with Summer a couple of weeks ago ... who says she didn't seem too bad. In fact, we’re told she was focused on trying to finish up an album she had been working on."

Donna Summer was a trailblazer during the 1970s and defined the dance music era of the time. The five-time Grammy Award winner married to fellow singer Bruce Sudano in 1980 and the couple had two daughters.

RIP Donna Summer.
