Chicago-based singer-songwriter Willis Earl Beal was arrested following a show in the Netherlands over the weekend – because the star kicked a homeless person in the face.
The experimental star performed in the Dutch country as part of the Le Guess Who? Festival, and performed tracks from his debut album 'Acousmatic Sorcery', which came out earlier this year. But, despite having a number of fans in the crowd, the star was unhappy with a number of 'bad apples', and decided to cut his show short.
But, one 'drunk and stoned' member of the crowd was particularly annoying Beal – to the point where the star decided to kick him in the face. Despite capturing his unceremonious exit from the stage, there was no video evidence of the attack – but he still ended up spending the night in a cell. It's unknown whether he'll be facing any charges.
The video of his end-of-gig rant can be seen below, and sees Beal openly admitting to kicking the guy's 'face in'.
He tells the crowd: “Because of a few bad apples, we all miss out on one more glorious, fantastic, lovely performance. I love you, and I even love the guy whose face I kicked in. I love him, too. He’s a good guy! He’s just drunk, a little.”
