All Star Musicians Line-Up For Soccer Aid 2012

A range of the world's most talented musicians performed in front of thousands of fans yesterday, without a microphone or guitar in sight, because they were playing football as part of Unicef's Soccer Aid charity match.

The now biennial event sees England football legends teaming up with English celebrities to take on a Rest of World team made up of legends and stars alike, with the match this time ending 3-1 in favour of England.

Considering this game was a "friendly" charity match, it didnt stop former England striker Teddy Sherringham targetting Rest of World star chef Gordan Ramsay. The Scottish chef had to be carried off the field by medics after a cruching tackle from the veteran England man.



England's team comprised of musicians such as Robbie Williams – who organised the event – his Take That partner Mark Owen, Olly Murs, and JLS' Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold. Kasabian's Sergio Pizzorno was the only musician playing for the RoW team – but ended up scoring a wondergoal, which earned him the Man of the Match award at the end of the game.

Pizzorno became the latest person to lob an oncoming David Seamen with a wonderful curling shot (which you can check out below), and told ITV after the game: “I'm proud of that one.”

It's the first in a line of big events for Pizzorno and Kasabian, who'll be headlining the epic Reading and Leeds Festivals this August. Check the link below to grab tickets to either festival.
