The company behind the incredible hologram performance of Tupac Shakur at Coachella Festival earlier this year have confirmed that they've set their sights on blues-rock legend Elvis Presley as their next hologram.
The innovative new technology allowed deceased rap star Tupac to perform alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre at Coachella Festival earlier this year, and turned heads across the world – and sparked endless speculation about who would be chosen (if anyone) to be brought back to life for an epic one-off show.
Among the countless guesses were guitar god Jimi Hendrix, soul singer Amy Winehouse and Tupac's rap rival Biggie Smalls. But, one person who was probably high on a lot people's list seems to have come out on top – the original hound-dog himself Elvis Presley.
Digital Domain Media, the company behind the original hologram, have teamed up with Core Media Group, the company that owns the license rights of Elvis Presley, for the venture, and are reportedly looking into putting on Elvis shows – and maybe even television appearances.
John Textor, chairman of Digital Domain Media, said of the story: “Elvis is the most iconic, most recognised performer on the planet, and we are thrilled to have been chosen to bring new performances and original shows where fans can have their own, new experiences of Elvis.”
