Alexisonfire To Tour World As Farewell To Fans?

Canadian hardcore outfit Alexisonfire will perform one final tour according to a post on frontman Wade McNeil’s Twitter - one year after the band called it a day.

The internationally-renowned five-piece split up in August last year, halfway through working on new material for what would have been their fifth studio album, but later promised that there would be a farewell tour of their home country Canada - because they hadn’t had a chance to say goodbye to the fans which took their 10 year career to great heights.

Now, despite McNeil taking on a new role as frontman of Gallows, it looks like Alexisonfire may take their farewell tour worldwide, after some Twitter activity from the vocalist got fans talking across the globe.

McNeil wrote on the site: “Seems like the cats out of the bag. Alexisonfire will do one final tour. In no way will this impact Gallows. Our new record is out in a few months and it will rip your face off.”

Although no mention of any specific cities or countries has been mentioned, it seems very more likely that there’ll be gigs across the globe - and British fans are in luck, because McNeil re-tweeted a user who asked if there were to be UK dates on the tour.

Stay with Stereoboard for more information on this potential tour - we’ll let you know as soon as any official dates hit the surface.
