At The Drive-In Make European Return

Post-hardcore pioneers At the Drive-In performed their first European gig for over ten years last night, with a blistering set at Spain’s Benicassim Festival.

The Texas-based rockers, known for their intense live shows and hardcore style, smashed out an 11-track set at the sunny festival, and frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala was on great form - even making a few jokes (including a reference to The League of Gentlemen).

They rounded off their set with an epic performance of ‘One Armed Scissor’ - arguably their most well-known and famous track - with Bixler-Zavala making a tongue-in-cheek comment at the fans who only know them by the track, saying: “Oh, I've been waiting an hour to hear 'One Armed Scissor’”. You can check out the setlist of the show below.

At The Drive-In will perform at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on August 28th, just days after they make their UK festival comeback at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. The show could end up being the band’s last UK performance ever - the band have already revealed that their reunion shows are simply a ‘nostalgia thing’ and that no new material will be recorded.
